India is gearing up for it’s festival season as the country witnesses stores getting ready for promotions while families are eagerly waiting to begin their shopping sprees. In the meantime, a popular app known as Paytm, your go-to recharge app, is also doing a little something for the season. According to Economic Times, Paytm will be hosting an online food festival to “drive traction for its food category.” Yes, you heard that right, a food festival!
Paytm, a start up for mobile recharges, has also branched out into the shopping category, offering quite a few deals from restaurants, websites, as well as coupons. The company now boasts of a 100 million user base. Specially for the food festival, Paytm has joined forces with companies like Zomato, Swiggy, Faasos, Tiny Owl, and Holachef, for online food ordering, and for offline ordering, they’ve tied up with fast-food restaurants like Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Costa Coffee and Vaango.
The Senior Vice President of Paytm, Kiran Vasireddy, made a statement saying, “By offering widest variety of cuisine along with exceptional deals and discounts to our user base, our objective is to generate greater awareness and traction for food ordering in India.” According to Paytm, 20,000 restaurants will be roped in to the food festival.
