An Evening Of Wine Appreciation With Maurizio Bertacchini

A beautiful evening with Bertacchini Maurizio from Folanari taught us to appreciate a fine selection of wines.  It was an introduction to the 3 Folonari wines brought into the Chennai market by a wine distributor, Ace Beveragez.

Ace Beveragez, a key player in the alcohol industry since 2006 with its key role being import and distribution, and with a  mission is to make Indian liquor market to have access to all major international liquor brands.

EVERY BOTTLE HAS IT’S OWN STORY

A wine appreciation session held at A2, The Park Hotel saw Maurizio Bertacchini, the export director of Folonari, talked about the brands from the winery as well as it’s grape varietals.

The evening saw wines like Pinot Grigio (aka Pinot Gris); a dry white wine that has a punchy acidity with flavors of lemons, limes, green apples and honeysuckle which is as refreshing as a lemonade on a hot summer’s day, and Cavicchioli Rose Spumante, with a character of champagne, and  is made from 100 Lambrusco grapes, fresh and fruity aroma with red fruit notes and a lingering aftertaste.

Folonari Chianti, a 100% Sangiovese with hints of cherries & spices with blackberry, raspberry and toasted almond notes on the finish were also served.

The wines were accompanied by delicious tapas like Prawn Tempura, Panko Crusted Mini Mushroom Galletes courtesy of the chef was the perfect foil for the wine. Check out the below video for more!
