Americans Love Pickles So Darn Much That They Apparently Made A Pickle Juice Soda

on

No, this is in fact not a joke, but I’m sure it’s not the weirdest thing you’ve seen on the internet these days. At times like these, the internet is indeed dark and full of terrors. There has definitely been a slew of odd food trends (? mistakes?) that do make it easier for us to accept something like a pickle juice soda (at least it’s a liquid?).

Americans have been known to love their pickles, Rachel even offers one to Mark in Friends, whose friendship turned out to be the beginning of the end for Ross and Rachel. All because of a pickle, who would have thunk?

Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, a chain of super cute candy stores in Pennsylvania and Ohio, has announced the arrival of Pickle Juice Soda in its stores, and to be honest there seems to be a market for it (not for me, I’d rather die).

“If you’re the kind of pickle lover who relishes all things pickled, this is gonna be a really big dill,” the store wrote on its Facebook page. Quite a masterful pun, if I might say so myself!

According to the shop, the soda is crafted by a private bottling company and is made with pure cane sugar. Apparently, it tastes like pickle juice (duh!).

The store states that “Your brain prepares you for the taste of pickle juice. It smells just like dill pickle juice as you might imagine. The taste is spot-on. While the flavor isn’t overwhelming, it’s sweet and would definitely satisfy that pickle craving.” (Is that a thing? Do people actually have those?)

For those of you that want to try out this new Pickle Juice Soda but don’t live near the shop, the store is selling the soda online. The soda goes for $2.50 a bottle in the store, and $9.99 online, though that includes shipping. If one bottle isn’t enough, three bottles cost $19.99 and a six-pack will run you $29.99. Safe to say, if you’re not near a store, you could be in a bit of a pickle!
