Praise the Lord as yet another great coffee joint may be on the cards for the people of Marietta, GA. And Alton Brown will most probably be the man behind it! A resident of the town, the TV chef and cookbook author tweeted yesterday “Hey #Marietta…we need a new coffee shop and I think I’m just the guy to open it”.

Needless to say, the tweet caused quite a stir among the people of the town, Alton’s fans, and most of all coffee lovers. To put the hustle at rest, Eater reached out to Alton for a comment on the matter, and here’s what Brown said:
“It is my intention to open a coffee shop in Marietta, GA, though I’m not at a point where I can release any details,” Alton told Eater Atlanta in an email. “I can tell you this — no, no, I’ve said too much already.”

So, Brown is not headed down to Marietta right now with his beans and espresso machine, but it IS a solid possibility in the coming months. Basically, it is safe to say that the town’s future generations are destined to sip on some excellent coffee brewed at Alton’s Café (or something less obvious).
