Admit you were drunk and driving and win a Scholarship
That’s one “Step” for teens but a giant leap for drunk drivers
Christian Schwaner is a private defence attorney in Colorado. He’s come up with the “First Step Scholarship Program” that allows teens to make up for their drunken mistakes. All they have to do is admit to it, write an essay describing the experience and the lessons learnt and they could win a scholarship of a $1000.
“I was trying to find what might be something that is a light-bulb moment for these kids,” said Schwaner. Now that’s an interesting way to do it!
