Aditya Thackeray Asks Maharashtra CM To Let Hotels And Pubs To Be Open All Night On New Year’s Eve

The Shiv Sena youth wing chief Aditya Thackeray has asked the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis to let hotels and bars stay open all night on 31st December reports First Post. The former believes that doing so will increase employment and revenue. He also added in his letter that citizens need to unwind after work hours. The permission for restaurants and pubs to remain open on New Year’s Eve is currently at 1:30 AM and establishments can stay open till 5 AM.

Party All Night

Thackeray has mentioned in his letter to the CM that “what is legal during the day cannot be illegal at night” and that “We need to trust our citizens and give them more space and time to unwind after hours of work.” He also said that a resolution was passed in 2013 by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation that had requested that hotels and shops in non-residential areas be allowed to operate 24×7. “The proposal for Mumbai is awaiting your approval from the Home Department,” he said.
