Actor Himansh Kohli’s Food & Nightlife Guide To Delhi

on

We’ve all seen him flirting with actresses on the silver screen, but not many of us know that actor Himansh Kohli has been flirting with his hometown, Delhi, ever since he was a kid. In a recent interview for Times of India’s ‘flirt with your city’ campaign, Kohli spoke about all that he loves about the city. Take a look at some of Himansh’s favourite foods to eat, things to do, and places to be at in the Capital.

Street Food, Sufi Nights, & Stadiums

Needless to say, the vast expanse of food options and establishments set in scenic locations tops the list of reasons why the actor loves Delhi. “The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Delhi is the food. For me, it’s about spending time with my family and friends at restaurants where you can have a conversation with people. If you look around Delhi, the place has a very Punjabi vibe, but there are some places that give you an English vibe, and Qutub Enclave is one such place,” says the actor.

The Yaariyan star, who grew up in Lajpat Nagar and has since been in love with the neighborhood and the area around it, is a fan of everything Delhi has to offer – right from Defence Colony’s iconic kulfi to Bengali Market’s gol gappas. “You can have the best gol gappas in Bengali Market. Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market offers the best dahi wale daal pakode. There is a paan shop near Claridges which is very popular”, he says, adding “If someone visits Delhi for a day, they should definitely go and eat Natraj’s dahi bhalle in Chandni Chowk.”

Speaking about Delhi’s hip nightlife, Himansh reveals that though he is not into clubbing, he does enjoy the occasional Sufi nights in the Capital. Adding that there is “something for everyone” in Delhi, the 28-year-old says that the city holds a special place in the heart of fitness lovers as well. Delhi has so many open spaces that people here are encouraged to take up sports and to focus on fitness. There are so many sports complexes, like Talkatora Stadium and private clubs in the city, which make it an ideal place for fitness enthusiasts,” he says.
