Sometimes cocktails taste like nothing more than sugar and water. Knocking back a few leaves you with both an alcohol buzz and a sugar high. If you want the delicious cocktail but would prefer to avoid the sugar overdose here are a few cocktails you can guzzle.
White Wine Sangria
The sangria is naturally sweetened with fruit, ensuring that the amount of sugar doesn’t get out of hand. White wine is also beautifully refreshing!
This classic cocktail is a strong, heady drink that only needs half a teaspoon of sugar.
Ginger Whiskey Sour
Anything with ‘sour’ in its name can’t be sweet right? This is a strong cocktail with a ginger twist.
The sweetness of this margarita comes from the sweet and refreshing watermelon. No added sugar needed!
If it’s not watermelon season, then try ordering a blueberry margarita instead. The blueberries balance out the tartness of the tequila.

#SidecarCocktail #ColinPeterField #HemingwayBar #RitzParis
The sidecar is made with cognac, orange liquer and lemon juice. The liquor adds a level of sweetness without the cloying flavour of sugar.
If you like gin, then mix things up with the gimlet; a delicious combination of gin, lime and soda water. The soda water will take off the edge!
The Pisco Manhattan is a mixture of pisco and sweet vermouth. Try it and you’ll never go back to sugar-laden cocktails again!
Martinis are one of the world’s favourite cocktails; they’re delicious and smooth.
