7 Spots For The Best Irani Food In Delhi

Iranian (or Irani) is a cuisine known for its aromatic gravies, spiced rice, and rich flavors. Devoured mostly in the western Indian states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, the Capital too is not devoid of good Irani food. Although there are only a handful of places that pride themselves with a ‘wholeheartedly Irani’ tag, many places have an impeccable selection of Irani food on their menu. And while these menus do also feature hints of Persian and Parsi flavors, we take that in our stride for the sake of cultural, culinary, and historic similarities. Here are all the restaurants in Delhi that serve up gorgeous Irani, Parsi, and Persian spreads.

You must try their Papeta par eeda, Marghi na Farcha, and Mutton Berry Pulao.

Come to Monkey Bar if you are looking for a delicious blend of cuisines. In terms of Irani food, the choices are limited but it does a great Berry Pulao. In the breakfast section, they also serve the famous Irani breakfast staple- Akuri (deliciously spiced scrambled eggs served with warm buttered pav). *drools*

A small restaurant that prides itself in serving authentic and affordable Persian food, Fidahh is a very simple place with very little focus on décor. The food, however, is nothing less than a delight. The menu is packed with traditional specials like Harissa Chicken, Lamb Chelo Kebabs, and the Fidahh Grilled Chicken that are simply irresistible.
