5 Pop ups in Mumbai that are Popping Good

There today, gone tomorrow. That’s the basic concept behind the pop-up restaurant fad that’s gained popularity world over. A delicious combination of mystery, good food and exclusivity for a few lucky customers, its not hard to see why so many foodies are always on the look out for the next pop up. Here in Mumbai we have our fair share of these fun eateries. Here’s a couple to watch out for over the next couple of days.

  • The Olive Summer Souk

Hosted by popular fine dining restaurant The Olive Bar and Kitchen and Small Fry & Co, a culinary curator, this pop up will put together an experience to help you combat Mumbai’s summer heat. Along with a brunch menu created by The Olive Bar and Kitchen, there’ll be fruit cocktails, a kids area and a pop-up spa.

Where: The Olive Bar and Kitchen, Bandra West
When: Saturday 25th April from 12pm – 6:20pm 

  • Don’t Give a Fork

Don’t Give A Fork was originally a food blog written by Payal Bhuptani, a photographer , traveller and writer. She’s now moved on from posting about her food travels and posting recipes to hosting pop ups. While her last pop up showcased Italian cuisine, this weeks will feature North African food.
Where: Road House Bluez, Andheri
When: Sunday April 26th at 12 pm

  • Poppaddum

Aptly named, this pop up is run by Sneha Nair, a Malyali who serves up traditional South Indian food from her ‘Amma’s kitchen’. Twice a month, Nair hosts a Sunday lunch packed with delicious treats. Last Sunday her guests feasted on prawn and papaya curry, fish cutlets and fried pomfret.

  • The Local

Eat, drink, shop and be merry at The Local, a pop up market that will be held in Juhu this weekend. Foodies, we promise some tasty bites including Mexican eats catered by Mexican Express and salads created by Chop & Toss.

Where: St Joseph’s High School, Juhu

When: Saturday 25th April at 11 am.

This one’s a little advance, but you’d better mark your calendars right now. Why? Because Bombay Local promises to be a foodie’s heaven with a range of meals like summer rolls, short bread, homemade cheeses and quiches washed down with the city’s best sangrias. We’ll see you there!
