5 Food Tips From Prince Harry’s Rumored Beau, Meghan Markle

on

While the Queen is hosting lavish banquets, Prince William and the Duchess touring the Globe, and young Prince George enjoying some ice cream with his pooch, Prince Harry is cooking up something of his own. The Prince of Wales is said to be sharing some royal quality time with rumored beau Meghan Markle.

Apart from being a successful model, actor, and humanitarian activist, Markle totally owns it in the glam department. And as if that wasn’t enough, a little birdie tells us that the lady has a few tricks up her sleeve in the kitchen as well! Here are three things we can learn (apart from being a total slayer) from Prince Harry’s lady love:

  1. French Fries Are Good

Whoever believe in “a moment on the lips, forever on the hips”, obviously never met Meghan Markle. While the actor follows a strict diet during shoots, she lets herself relax a bit on other days. “On hiatus, all bets are off,” she says. Here’s what Markle’s workday diet is like:

Wake up: Hot water with lemon

Breakfast: Steel-cut oats with bananas and agave syrup drizzled on it

Lunch: Salad with protein of some kind

Snack: Apples with almond butter and sea salt

Late Afternoon Pick-Me-Up: Green juice

Dinner: Pasta with zucchini, lots of Parmesan and a glass of wine

Although, she doesn’t exactly binge out on fries, her diet is tad more lenient. Breakfast is an omelet with fresh herbs and cheese, and toast; while lunch sees seafood with a side of fries, and dinner is usually light with some soup. “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me,” Markle says. Oh and di we tell you? The lady has a soft corner for poutine as well!

  1. Green Juices Are Not

Though Markle’s diet consists of a lot of green juices, she doesn’t exactly relish them or swear by them either. “Green juice is a food-as-medicine philosophy for me,” she explains saying that the drink is more of an energy booster than anything else.

  1. Neither Is Gluten

No, it’s not a “model thing”, but something that Meghan has tried and tested herself. The actor admits to have noticed a remarkable difference in how her skin looks on-camera and how much energy she has during the day when she cuts out gluten completely.

“It gets such a bad wrap,” she says. “However, when I’m traveling, I won’t miss an opportunity to try great pasta. I come back from vacation every year with a food baby, and I’ve named her Comida. I get to the set and I’m like, ‘hey, Comida’s here, and she’s kicking.'”

  1. Pasta 101

The Suits star’s Pasta sauce is something all of us should try once in a while. One of Markle’s friends talked her into slow-cooking zucchini for 4-5 hours, until it turned into a mushy creamy saucy thing to toss with pasta. “The sauce gets so creamy you’d swear there’s tons of butter and oil in it, but it’s just zucchini, water and a little bouillon,” Markle says.

  1. Grill ‘em Right

Yup, Markle knows her way around the barbeque grill as well. Moreover, she has a particular tip to make our steaks taste much better – just squirt some lemon over them. “Nobody tastes the lemon, but it really brings out the steak’s flavor,” she says.

Beauty with brains and great choices in the kitchen, Markle’s definitely a keeper!
