2019 Fall Will See Anthony Bourdain’s New Biography

Just a few weeks back, chef, storyteller, cookbook author, and television host Anthony Bourdain broke a million hearts as news of his passing hit the wire. Needless to say, obituaries were many and homages by some eminent personalities – including former POTUS Barack Obama – were heartfelt. Online streaming giant, Netflix decided not to take Bourdain’s hit show Parts Unknown of its site. And now a new biography about Bourdain might just give fans a little more to cherish the man by.

“A Portrait Of The Writer”

According to a report, Ecco will publish what is being described as “an authorized portrait of the writer, veteran chef and television traveler, built from stories shared by those who knew him best,” in Fall of 2019. Author Paula Forbes confirmed the news on Twitter last week, adding that Laurie Woolever will edit the book.

Woolever, who had previously worked with Bourdain as his long-time assistant and had also co-written his last cookbook Appetites, said “After working with and collaborating with Tony since 2004, I’m honored to now be working with his estate, and talking to the people who knew him best, in order to share the story of a life that influenced so many people, in so many ways, all across the globe.”
