15th Annual Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble Inaugurated In New Delhi

The Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BCIHMCT) Delhi kicked off the 15th Annual Chandiwala Hospitality Ensemble yesterday. The three-day event will be hosting over 150 students from 20 hotel management and catering colleges from across the country.

Inaugurated by Ranjan Banerjee, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Today Okhla, New Delhi, the event will have students participating in competitions held over the course of the Ensemble. This will include competitions based on culinary skills, bar skills, facility planning and design, decorations, fruit and vegetable carving, etc.

In his opening speech, Banerjee said that competitions were good platforms for students to learn from each other, and gain confidence for future challenges in their career. “Competitions,” he said, “will make students fit for future.” Passion, resilience and integrity are important to excel in any profession, especially in the hospitality profession, he said.

He added that being in the service and hospitality industry, it is extremely important to be spirited and resilient. Moreover, resilience would reap fruitful results in the long run. “Hotel industry is a dynamic industry where no two people nor two situations are same, “ he said highlighting the importance of resilience.

Also speaking at the event was Prof RK Bhandari, Principal, BCIHMCT. While expressing gratitude to the hospitality industry in the Delhi NCR for extending support for the event, he also said that the objective of the Ensemble, Bhandari said, has been to prepare students for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.

Students’ performances will be judged by a panel of highly experienced and eminent Chefs and Managers representing different departments of Hotels in Delhi-NCR.
