5 Avocado desserts for the week

Avocado is one fruit that can be used or included in almost any dish. It gives the dish a whole new dimension, making it rich, smooth and silky. The fruit takes on the flavour of the dish and adds texture. Avocado can be used to make some delightful desserts. To start off, you must be sure the avocado that you are using is ripe or unripe. It’s super easy to find that out. If the avocado yields to gentle pressure of the hand, it’s ripe enough and is ready to eat. If it doesn’t then, it can stay for a couple of days to ripen. Now that we’ve learnt to test the fruit, let’s make some avomazing desserts!

1. Cherry-Vanilla Avocado Pudding

This is one recipe you can’t go wrong with. All you’ll need are a few ingredients. Keep ready a large avocado, half cup milk, 15-16 pitted cherries, vanilla extract, a pinch of salt and goji berries, hemp seeds for garnish. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and garnish it with goji berries and hemp seeds. Serve with a cherry on top.

2. Avocado Frosting

This makes a great frosting for cupcakes and vegan cakes. It’s amazing and oh-so-delicious! You’ll need: Powdered sugar, two medium avocados chopped, some lemon juice and two tablespoon lemon extract. Put all the ingredients together and blend until smooth. Put the mixture into a piping bag and use it as a frosting on your cakes and cupcakes!

3. Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Psst! Your vegan friends will love this! You’ll need: half tablespoon salt, one tablespoon vanilla extract, 1/3 cup almond milk, fresh raspberries, half cup agave, half cup cocoa powder, four medium avocados, and half cup unsweetened chocolate chips. Melt the chocolate chips and put all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Transfer into long glasses and let it cool I the freezer for at least three hours. Garnish with fresh raspberries and serve!

4. Avocado Pie

This is a super easy dessert and you’ll not need a lot of ingredients too! All you’ll need it some whipped cream, two and a half tablespoons lime juice, half cup condensed milk, a pinch of salt, some cream cheese, two medium avocados and some lemon extract. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and keep it aside Now for the pie crust, you’ll need: a pinch of salt, ½ tablespoon granulated sugar, five tablespoon butter, one and a half cups crushed graham crackers. Add all the ingredients and mix until crumbly. Layer it on a baking tin and bake for 5 minutes. Now add the filling and leave it in the fridge for at least four hours. Serve with whipped cream!

5. Chocolate Avocado Fudge

For this you’ll need, one bar dark chocolate, half teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ cup coconut milk, one large avocado pureed, raw pistachios and a pinch of salt to taste. Line a baking tin with parchment paper. Heat the ingredients in a separate pan, except he pistachios. Keep stirring until the chocolate has completely melted. Add the nuts and mix well. Spread the mixture on the lined tin and refrigerate till firm. Cut the fudge into pieces and serve!
